Minister alerts on Fertilizer cartel |

The Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Dr Sayyadi Abba Ruma has revealed that a cartel of fertilizers distributors was behind shortage of the commodity in the country over the years. He disclosed this while testifying at the Senate Investigation Committee probing the agricultural activities in the last eight years in the country.

Senate President, David Mark lamented on the subsistence agriculture practised by the farmers. He said “if we can not get food at an affordable price for every Nigeria then we have problem” and urged the ministry to improve on fertilizer distribution in order to make it available to farmers as at when due.
